New CD from Shawn Persinger is Prester John!
Shawn’s new CD with mandolinist David Miller, is now available from Innova Recordings! “DESIRE FOR A STRAIGHT LINE” — all instrumental – is the usual PRESTER JOHN mixed bag of styles. Challenging yet accessible; virtuosic yet affable; smart and whimsical. All sixteen tracks offer something unique. Need some points of reference? J.S. Bach meets Frank Zappa; David Grisman and Tony Rice play Igor Stravinsky and Danny Elfman; Friday Night in San Francisco with a mandolin.

Martin Grosswendt’s New CD to be released … SOON!
Martin’s Payday!, features classic acoustic blues interpretations from masters such as Blind Willie Johnson, Furry Lewis and Mississippi John Hurt, more recent numbers by the likes of Muddy Waters and J.B Lenoir, gems from Bobby Charles and Richard Thompson, plus four original songs and instrumentals.
Primarily, he plays his ’59 Gibson J-185, but I also does one song on electric, one song each on fretless and cello banjos, and a pair of Creole tunes from Southwest Louisiana on fiddle. The recording quality is nothing short of remarkable, thanks to the work of engineer Dave Correia of Celebration Sound. Martin’s told us that he’s “assured by reputable sources that the performances aren’t bad, either.”
